In this painting, I wanted to capture the intense final encounter between the matador and the bull. Traditionally, at the end of the battle, the matador looks directly into the bull’s eyes. I was drawn to that moment of eye contact—a brief but powerful connection between two opponents.

The bold movement and vivid colors express the drama and energy of the bullfight, while the bull’s gaze becomes the emotional center of the painting. Despite the movement surrounding them, there is a sense of stillness in their confrontation. For me, the painting is about that final moment of recognition, when strength, courage, tension, and respect meet face to face.
